It’s no secret that runners are fans of nut butters. With fat, protein, and fiber, peanut butter is great for energy and keeping hunger pangs at bay. I’ve always liked peanut butter (throw in a banana and I’m in love), but my fondness for it has waned a bit with the discovery of other butters. Here are my top 3 butter treats (at the moment).
- Sunbutter. This was my first foray into the world of not-peanut butters. Once, a roommate went apple picking and filled our entire fridge with apples…and I ate most of them slathered in sunbutter.
- Wild Friends Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter. It’s all in the name of the product. Need I say more?
- Justin Honey Almond Butter. (Confession: I think Justin is the best at almond butter. They’re all so good.) I love almonds, I love honey. It’s perfect. I used to eat a lot of peanut butter and honey toast. This makes it easier.
(Yes, my photo doesn’t show all of these. I usually keep the chocolate treat in my desk at work and Ernest really likes crunchy peanut butter, so we always have some of that at home. But, really, I’m going to stop trying to explain myself and head to the store.)
