Here we are, 12 weeks before the Cleveland Marathon, and at the beginning of another rigorous training season.
As I’ve mentioned several times prior, my training plan of choice is any of Hal Higdon’s great schedules. In the past I’ve run both the Novice 1 and the Novice 2. This year it would make sense to progress to Intermediate, and so I am – but not the same way I expected!
Hal has come out with a brand new schedule, the Intermediate 2. To quote the man himself,
“The difference is that Intermediate 1 is an endurance-based program; Intermediate 2 is a speed-based program. These two intermediate schedules exist in a parallel universe, the same level of difficulty. They are part of the logical progression upward from Novice through Intermediate to Advanced.”
Sounds good to me, Hal. See you at the finish line.
