Another year year of races accomplished! And just in time to celebrate for the holidays. I’m going to my parents’ home in Dayton, to be stuffed full of Indian food and Christmas party dishes. Get ready for the holiday weight!
Except… I don’t think I can afford that this year. In fact, I’m actually really excited to try to push my way through the end of the year and actually lose some weight. While the streak helped me get going, I saw some pictures of myself recently that really opened my eyes.

Yikes… maybe that shirt is too small, but once upon a time, it wasn’t. Those pics were taken early December, just around when I was starting to hit the gym regularly.
Here’s the thing: I know that I can lose that weight, because I’ve done it before. This year, in fact. The real challenge is maintaining that motivation, pushing through stress struggles, and finding the time to cook regularly.
And see that sharp slope downward in March? That included a week-long, expenses-paid, business trip to Orlando, where I somehow managed to eat and drink wonderful things and still keep my weight loss going!
So the holidays should be a breeze, right? As I head back to good ol’ Beavercreek, Ohio, I’m packing my running shoes and looking up the closest Anytime Fitness. Merry Christmas!
