And we’re off to the races! (Ha get it?) Approximately 12 weeks before the Cleveland Marathon, it’s time to get out the pen and paper (or Google calendar if you’re like me), and map out the training runs leading up to the race.
I once again decided to go with Hal Higdon’s half marathon plan, but I had to make the choice between the Novice 2, and Intermediate. Eventually, I settled on the Novice 2; I’d rather play it safe and build up my fundamentals slowly. The Novice 2 plan gives me a good chance to incorporate some speed work, while being a little more flexible than the Intermediate. There’s always the River Run in the fall to try something more challenging.
Slow and steady wins the race!
